Sydenham Laboratories, Inc. (SLI) was established in 1971 by Dr. Eduardo R. dela Cruz, a renowned cardiologist and past president of the Philippine Medical Association.
Having a keen vision to promote healthcare, Dr. dela Cruz set up SLI as a pharmaceutical company committed to providing high-quality drugs. Previously founded in Mandaluyong, the company experienced ongoing growth and expansion, prompting its transfer to Dasmariñas, Cavite, in 2000, where it was able to cater better to the needs of the industry and enhance its manufacturing abilities.
SLI was so named in honor of Dr. Thomas Sydenham, a renowned British doctor who made pioneering contributions to contemporary medicine. Dr. Sydenham transformed the practice of medicine by placing great emphasis on the need to comprehend diseases through meticulous observation and promoting effective management of illness and proper treatments according to patient requirements. His dedication to practical and evidence-based medicine remains the driving force behind SLI's philosophy and pharmaceutical innovation approach.
